For wine consumers in the USA in 2010, what are the cheapest wine regions around the world from which to buy good quality wines? I'm sure that economies and exchange rates make certain regions a great deal right now, but do not know which ones are the bargains.

I just opened a bottle of red wine that I had lying around and, much to my surprise, it's sparkling. I was going to drink some tonight and use the rest tomorrow in a pasta sauce. Now (and this might sound a little silly) will the fact that the wine is fizzy have any effect on the sauce? I don't want my dinner to taste fizzy! It is proper wine, not a wine cooler.

Question by minicoop_jen: How do you store wine after opening? I want to start drinking a glass of wine a day and my favorite wine is Pinot Noir. So, what is a good way to store it after it's opened? I know your not supposed to put red wine in the fridge and honestly cold pinot doesn't sound appealing. I figure if I drink a generous sized glass every day then it would take me three to four days to finish a bottle. Would the wine be bad by the fourth day?
